HP has announced in India availability of a new HP Pavilion dv5 Laptop that is powered by 2.0 GHz Dual-Core AMD Turion X2 Processor RM-70 with 2-MB L2 Cache, 4000 MHz FSB featuring ATI Xpress 1100 chipset motherboard, 2-GB PC5300 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, 250-GB Serial-ATA 5400 rpm (150 Mbps) hard disk drive and 8X double layer DVD Writer with 8.5 GB data capacity.

Sporting a sleek Espresso Black all-magnesium-alloy casting, the new HP Pavilion dv5 laptop features 15.4-inch (39.1 cm) WSVGA Widescren LCD TFT display with BrightView Technology powered by integrated ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics chipset with upto 128-MB dedicated video memory and up to 1791 MB TAG memory capable of rendering upto 1280 x 800 pixels screen resolution in 16.7 million colors.

Preloaded with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic, HP Pavilion dv5 laptop comes with integrated WiFi 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN connection, integrated Bluetooth HP module, integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN connection, and standard 56kbps V.92 fax/modem card.
