Acer Aspire One NetBook With Solid State Storage

Acer has recently announced  Acer Aspire One ultra-portable netbook is powered by 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor and it features 512-MB L2 Cache, upto 533 MHz FSB, 512-MB DDR2 SDRAM (1-GB maximum), and 8-GB Solid State NAND Flash drive storage.

Only 29mm thick ultra-portable Acer Aspire One Laptop is designed as low-cost, Internet-centric mobile computing devices also called NetBooks and netbook features 8.9-inch (22.60 cm) 262K color capable WSVGA High-Bright LED backlit TFT display with Acer CrystalBright Technology powered by integrated Mobile Intel 82801GBM graphics chipset with shared video memory offering maximum 1024 x 600 pixels screen resolution.

The Acer Aspire One comes with 8-GB Solid State Drives (SSD) that weigh less, use significantly less power and is less prone to damage as compared to conventional hard disk drives (HDD).

In addition, Solid State Hard Drives (NAND Flash) significantly enhance performance in comparison to conventional hard disk drive as the boot times are 25-50 percent faster and data access is 300 times faster for reading and 150% faster for writing.

Preloaded with Linpus Linux, the new Acer Aspire One netbook laptop is equipped with InviLink WiFi 802.11b/g wireless LAN connection,  integrated 10/100 Ethernet LAN connection, and 56kbps V.92 fax/modem.

The Intel Atom processor uses a new design structure that packs in 47 million transistors into a single chip sized of just 22mm, and it uses less than 1/10th of the 35 watts power used by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor resulting is less heat output.

The ultra-portable laptop sports a lightweight design with small foot print making it ideal for use at places like in home, shopping mall, airports, gym, local trains, bus, planes and such where a larger size laptop might feel inconvenient.

Weighing just 1.26 Kgs with 6-cell battery pack, the Acer Aspire One netbook Laptop also features integrated 0.3 Megapixel webcam with 640 x 480 resolution and integrated microphone allowing easy video conferencing via VoIP and video IM chats. The Acer OrbiCom webcam supports enhanced Acer PrimaLiteT technology for superior low-light performance.

Other features includes: built-in hi-def SRS surround sound audio hardware, integrated two 1.5 W stereo speaker, 3 x USB v2.0 compliant 4-pin connectors, VGA port, and S-Video TV-out port.

Available in Pink, Golder Brown, White and Blue colors, the Acer Aspire One netbook laptop comes with Linpus Linus OS with limited functionality and some of the software bundled with the laptop includes Openoffice 2 for linux, Aspire one mail and Messanger.

Acer Aspire One also features internal 5-in-1 card reader, supporting Secure Digital (SD), MultiMediaCard (MMC), Memory Stick (MS), Memory Stick PRO (MS PRO), xD-Picture Card (xD)

For security Acer Aspire One netbook laptop offers Pre-OS authentication, a BIOS booting user password protection, and security lock and a standard Kensington lock hole.
